Temperance: Self-control is necessary in desires, words and actions.  Such control is not to be violent or mortifying like the practices of ‘Hath’ but mental control through a process of harmony and moderation.  It is the golden mean between self-indulgence and rigid regimentation.  Your self-regulation would result in a balanced and harmonious existence.

Chastity: The body has to be kept clean and perfect by you.  Those things which harm the body or cause sickness and disease have to be scrupulously avoided.  In order to avoid evil thoughts, you should keep away from nasty plays, films, drinking of alcoholic beverages, wearing of scanty or flashy dresses.

Patience: Patience implies forbearance in the face of provocation.  Patience gives moral courage to bear the unexpected such as sudden hardships and sorrows.  Your patience is the sustenance of angelic beings.

Contentment: Contentment is an attitude of mind which accepts victory or defeat in the same way.  The contented man is free from envy, jealousy and greed.  He may have his ambitions but he knows that everyone does not get everything.  You must work hard to move forward but at the same time should not become proud through achievement or feel frustrated in case of failure.

Humility: You must overcome your own ego and pride.  You have to be humble and serve others without material motive or the expectation of reward.  Humility is not depreciation of oneself, but rather recognition of one’s own faults.

Justice: It implies that you respect for the rights of others.  The neglect or violation of the rights of others is a moral lapse. For society or the social

Prudence: You are to consider what is right or wrong for society or the social group as a whole.  You are to distinguish between good and bad. It is your duty to monitor your own environment and raise your voice against inequality and injustice.  You must use the power of reason for the betterment and the improvement of yours surroundings.

Dutifulness: Duties imply obligations to you, to the family, to society, to your country and humanity at large.  You must develop your mind through education and training and be able to earn to your living and support your family.  Wherever needed, you provide voluntary service to the poor and sick.

Temperance: Self-control is necessary in desires, words and actions.  Such control is not to be violent or mortifying but mental control through a process of harmony and moderation.  It is the golden mean between self-indulgence and rigid regimentation.  Your self-regulation would result in a balanced and harmonious existence.

In the last but not least, when you fill inside with peace that peace and bliss overflows from your heart in the form of compassion for others. You find yourself working for others and that is the greatest joy.
